Our story is a true one we have been witness to since we started in 2010. There’s a common thread between me, the HBH team, and every single one of our clients. We are all learning the why’s and how’s of prioritizing our health. It starts with one vanity quest or another, but like all vanity, it masks a deeper more fundamental issue. When you come to us for help with “getting healthy”, learning to “make lifestyle changes”, “accountability”, the really is that it’s about finally being “ok” to say, “hey, I need to pay more attention to body”.
When you come to us because your discomfort and pain level have become unbearable and you’re tired of not getting answers and trying so hard on your own. Constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, bloating, stomach pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, not being able to sleep well, the list goes on….
A solution, is far from vanity, but the core issue is the same. “Hey, I need to pay more attention to my body”.
The question then comes to “how?” How do we help you pay more attention to your body? We use a basic Functional Medicine approach where we look to your symptoms and begin to investigate root causes. Through our conversations, lab work, and your health history, we start to uncover what is needed for your unique body to thrive. This could be something really simple, like water, fats, proteins, complex carbs, minerals, vitamins, oxygen, sunshine. We also look to learn what could be harming your body, like a virus or maybe food allergies, or sensitivities you haven’t learned about. Or it could be something pathogenic in your gut, like yeast or a microbial overgrowth, or even parasites. And then we look to determine how we can help you prioritize the environment your body needs to heal and come into balance. This is also the lifestyle habits like sleep, rest, exercise and movement, joy and laughter, home cooking, creativity, and even our relationships.
For many of our clients, learning what’s missing for us, what could be hurting us, and creating more balance in our life all need attention and we support and guide you to make these changes stick. We want you to develop all the habits that support your health journey and bring you back to feeling your absolute best… even if that might be a totally new feeling.
