We hope this is helpful and welcome any questions you might have that are not covered in the kit instructions.

IgG Food Sensitivity by MVL, Genova, or Alletess

This is an antibody test. We recommend eating a rich variety of foods before taking the test to get more accurate results. For example, it would be very difficult for someone who hasn’t had dairy in a month to show any reaction to dairy, even though dairy is a problem food for this person. If your doctor will not be ordering a kit for you, you can order one through our offices.

You’ll be collecting the blood sample with a lancet that’s included in your kit. If you received a Genova test kit from your doctor, it is a lab draw.

Watch this finger prick instructional if you need help collecting your sample video.

How should you fill out the form?

Check with your doctor about what information to include. Some doctors give the following instructions:

  • Complete the patient payment section on the back of the form ONLY.
  • Send a copy of your insurance card with the kit.
  • Remember, you will pay the amount stated by your ordering physician even if you get other bills.
  • You can either pay by check or credit card.
  • It may seem like the form needs a physician’s signature or diagnostic codes, but all that is done electronically.

We hope this is helpful and welcome any questions you might have that are not covered in the kit instructions.

  • Let your Coach know you’d like to order and you’ll be sent an invoice.

To Prepare 2 Weeks Before Taking the Test:

If you are taking any of the following digestive support 1-2 weeks before the test, let us know before collecting your sample as this will affect your baseline

  • Enzymes
  • HCL
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Probiotics
  • Anti-inflammatories, even over-the-counter, like Advi

Wait at least 6 weeks after last dose:

  • Antibiotics
To Prepare 2-3 Days Before Collection:
  • Use a Biofilm disruptor. We’ll include a few capsules in your kit if you ordered through us. Talk to your Coach about how to prepare for the test using this. It will help give us a more representative sample because it will help loosen up the bacteria. DO NOT take it while you submit your specimen.

To Prepare the Night Before Taking the Test:
  • If you suspect your stool will be hard, be sure to take Magnesium Citrate to help make it softer and easier to “mix”. Ask us for help with this if you’re not sure how much you need. It’s unique for the individual.

How Should You Fill Out the Form?

When you receive the test kit, on the requisition form you only need to fill out your personal information. Also check off the test you are ordering, and sign the form. That’s all they need.

If you ordered the kit through your doctor, please refer to him/her for instructions. It may seem like the form needs a physician’s signature or diagnostic codes, but all that is done electronically.

Shipping Your Specimen:
  • Read the provided instructions carefully. Refrigerate your sample; order your FedEx pick-up same day if possible; do not drop package in a delivery box; do not schedule shipping on a Sunday or holiday weekend.

We hope this is helpful and welcome any questions you might have that are not covered in the kit instructions.

Refer to the test kit instructions for details on how to provide each day’s sample.

NUTREVAL Plasma

To help ensure your test results are as clear and easy to interpret as possible, I have some specific recommendations. These instructions vary somewhat from the instructions on the test kit you will receive. The NutrEval test requires a urine sample and a blood draw.

You will take your urine sample at home and take it with you to the lab when you have your blood drawn. We highly recommend using a mobile phlebotomist to make this easy. The urine sample needs to be submitted the same day as the blood draw and be fully frozen. Here’s a link to an instructional video and more information about the lab assay.

Results take about 4 weeks from the date the specimen is received.

For a Full 3 Days Before Your Collection, You Will Want To:
  • Not eat fruit of any kind (even tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, wine, dried, frozen, fresh, etc… read labels) Coconut and avocado are okay.
  • Not eat any fish or seafood of any kind (including fish sauce, dashi, fish broth, etc.)
  • Not eat any foods with mold or fungus (e.g. gorgonzola cheese)
  • Not eat processed food of any kind (e.g. any preservatives, colorings, MSG)
  • Not take any non-critical OTC, or intermittent medications

For a Full 24 Hours Before Your Collection, You Will Want To:
  • Restrict intake to five 8 oz. glasses for 24 hours to avoid excessive dilution of the urine.
  • Make sure that no more than 8 oz. of this is consumed after 8:00 p.m. the evening prior to urine collection.
  • Do not collect urine during menstruation.
  • Avoid any alcohol consumption.
  • Make sure you get plenty of protein the day before you do the morning urine.
  • Get at least 50g of protein and eat your typical diet and normal meals for you. The idea is to eat what you normally do, but exclude the foods on the list.

For a Full 8 Hours Before Your Collections, You Will Want To:
  • Fast overnight – water only – (at least 8 hours) prior to collection.

Urine Collection:
  • The urine needs to be a first morning void.

Before Taking Your Urine Specimen to the Lab, You Will Want To:
  • Make sure that you fully freeze it and take it to the lab on the same day you have your blood drawn. Typically both samples will be given to the lab tech to ship together, once the blood sample is fully processed. If the tech does not take your frozen urine sample, mail it to the lab in the box and envelope provided with your kit.
If your doctor won’t be drawing your blood, where should you get your blood drawn?
Mobile Phlebotomist:

  • Make your appointment ASAP, they may not have an opening available right away.
  • There’s an additional out-of-pocket cost paid directly to the lab for this draw.

To Go in Person:

Make 2 calls: One to Genova to find a lab nearest you that does NutrEval blood draws. 800-522-4762; and then call the lab to make sure that they accept NutrEval testing. (Don’t skip this double-checking step.)

Labs who have accepted Genova kits in the past:

  • In San Francisco, try Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation on 3801 Sacramento St. 415-600-2018. Call to confirm. They do not accept kits on Thursdays or Fridays.
  • In Mill Valley, try calling West Pacific Laboratory Services. Call to confirm
  • Most labs require samples to be collected before noon.

ORGANIX

Basic serum (or even RBC) nutrient data does not help us to understand fully what each unique body needs. Urinary organic acids testing chemically identifies what each unique body is missing based on metabolites that can be measured in urine. Typically, a single organic acids panel can identify reliably where opportunities exist to support optimal cellular energy production, better microbial balance in the gut, neurotransmitter balance, maximum liver detoxification capability, and minimal oxidative stress.

To help ensure your test results are as clear and easy to interpret as possible, we have some specific recommendations. These instructions vary somewhat from the instructions on the test kit you will receive. The Organix test requires a urine sample that needs to be fully frozen before it is shipped. Here’s a link to an instructional video and more information about the lab assay.

Results take 3-4 weeks from the date the specimen is received.

For a Full 3 Days Before Your Collection, You Will Want To:

SpectraCell Nutritional Testing

To order, contact our client care specialist (admin@happybellyhealth.com) or let your Coach know. Wholesale pricing is passed on to you. We don’t make any monies on this.

Once we have received the order, a kit will be sent to you and you’ll need to get your blood drawn. You will specifically be getting blood drawn for the Micronutrient Test.

You will not need to be in a fasted state in order to take this test. Continue taking the supplements that you are currently taking, but don’t add anything new until after the test.

In order to determine where you could be getting your blood drawn, you can go to the Spectracell Website. From there you will enter in your zip code and you will get a list of places you can have your blood drawn or request a mobile phlebotomist. There will be an additional fee for the blood draw. You will need to verify with that draw site or mobile phlebotomist will definitely perform the draw for the Spectracell test specifically.

  • Results take about 2 weeks from the date the specimen is received.
  • Here’s a sample report.
